Kathleen White, manager of H&R Block in Port Perry, will be on hand to address concerns, answer questions and try to help clear up any confusion in regards to personal income tax returns. Areas which will be covered in the seminar will include chang- es to the income tax return, ze- roing in on specific areas which cause confusion and warnings about pitfalls which people can fall into. The seminar will address those with all types of personal income tax returns. Areas such as capital gains, self- employment, farming and com- mission will all be looked at, along with the average income tax return. Mrs. White said the seminar is not meant to teach people how to complete their income tax re- turn, but rather to assist them 'in knowing whatis involved and what can and cannot be claimed. She said many people each year receive a larger refund or a reduction in taxes due when she completes their returns. This is mainly because there are areas which people do not realize they can make claims. Mrs. White will be shedding some light on these areas as well. At the end of the seminar there will be a question and an- swer period. Mrs. White hopes to be able to answer all con- cerns, but if she is unable to ad- dress a subject, she will re- search the problem for the per- son. The tax seminar will be held on Sunday, February 27 from 2- 4 p.m. at the Kinsmen Hall in Port Perry. There 1s no charge for the seminar as it is being sponsored by the Kinsmen Club as a public service event.
