Chang Lee, special assistant to Durham's Commissioner of Works, told council members on Monday that selected house- holds in Prince Albert and Port Perry could save by participat- ingin the program. Durham East MPP Gord Mills recently announced that Scugog was chosen as one of the test sites for the water conserva- tion project. A jobsOntario grant of $190,000 was made to fund the project, estimated to cost $315,000. Under the terms of the pro- ject, homeowners would convert their current household fix- tures to energy-efficient units. This includes toilets, taps and shower heads. A total of 180 households in Port Perry and Prince Albert will particpate in the program. Another 130 be included in Ux- bridge and 110in Beaverton.
