Our sympathy is extended to Carol Edgar on the death of her mother, Bessy-Bain Swinton. The funeral took place on Satur- day, March § in Brantford at Zion United Church. Scugog Island United Church, 19100 Island Road The Head UCW capably con- ducted the worship service on Sunday. Their theme was "Women Weaving the World". Special music was provided by "Two Plus Three Friends". The choir sang a beautiful anthem called "God Isn't Dead". Re- freshments and fellowship were enjoyed following the service. Flowers were placed in the sanctuary in memory of Wes Pearce, a formeg resident of Scugog Island, and Bessy-Bain Swinton, Carol Edgar's mother. Choir practice will be held on Thursday, March 10 at 7 p.m. The Grace UCW still have tickets available for their "Wearifig of the Green" ham and scalloped potato supper on Thursday, March 17 at 6 p.m. at the Island Hall. A program of entertainment will follow the dinner. Don't be disappointed, call Karen 985-8871 or Florence 985-9346 for tickets. A Communion Service will be held on Sunday, March 20 at 9:45 a.m. The Stewards will meet on Wednesday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at S.I.U.C. Please note change of 'date.
