Of this group, four were crowned Dis- tricc Champions and won the right to compete in the Regional Championship in Toronto on March 5. The four District Champions were Emma Marshall and Ta- ryn Izatt Galloway represent- ing the 10 and 11 year old girls, Rebecca Norrie, the 12 year old girls winner and Mark Heffern Champion in the 12 year old boy division. The four then travelled to To- ronto on Saturday, March 5 for the Regional final in which they had to compete against District Champions from as far east as Peterborough to as far west as Oakville. The competition also included Metro Toronto Cham- pions. Scugog represented itself well winning a third place fin- ish in the 11 year old girls cate- gory and crowning two Regional Champions. Rebecca Norrie of R.H. Cornish literally blew the competition away in the 12 year old girls division sinking 15 of 25 shots. Her closest competitor managedonly 11. The 12 year old boys division was hotly contested between a Toronto Champion and S.A. Cawker's Mark Heffern. Ida Hurtig wins Pine Vista trip Ida Hurtig of Port Perry is the delighted holder of the winning ticket in a raffle sponsored by the Blackstock Curling Club. In an effort to raise money for the Junior Curling program, the Blackstock Club sold 1,000 tickets for prizes generously do- nated by local businesses. First prize is a champagne weekend at the four star Pine Vista Resort at Stoney Lake. This prize is being arranged by Marlin Travel, who also donat- ed along with Baker Automo- tive, H & M Wright Feed Com- pany Ltd., and Herb Vine Fuels Ltd. Second prize is a Blue Jay baseball package sponsored by Evergreen Farm and Garden Equipment, Nestleton Country Store and Pine Ridge Packers and was won by Ron Linton, Brooklin. Trevor Beaton of Oshawa is the lucky winner of the third prize, a beautiful gift basket courtesy of Kathryn's of Nestle- ton. And fourth prize, a Shaker cabinet painted by Ginny Mas- terson of Blackstock, was won by Reva Kinsman, Enniskillen.
