The event, hosted by Sport for Disabled Ontario, Durham Hot- wheels, The Ministry of Cul- ture, Tourism and Recreation and the City of Oshawa, will take place May 14 at the Civic Fields. More than 150 athletes from across the region will be compet- ingin the event. Athletes will be representing five major disabili- ty groups including Cerebral Palsy, blind, amputee, wheel- chair and Les Autres (Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis). The Regional Games are held each year to promote sport for persons with physical disabili- ties and to provide a venue for athletes to qualify for higher levels of competition. A number of these athletes will qualify to participate in the Ontario Games in Windsor, July 7-9. From there they may qualify for the National and International events. This is the third time the Re- gional Games have been held in Oshawa. The organizing committee of the games is looking for volun- teers to help set up the event, for timekeeping and recording and relaying results to the officials. Mark Morrisson led the Leafs with four goals, two goals each by Timothy Cruick- shank and Danny Halward and one goal by Andrew Wray. Scoring for the Canadians were Keenan Geer with three goals, two goals each by James Donaldson and Ryan O'Leary and one goal by Josh McCabe. On Monday, April 18 the Ca- nadians doubled the Leafs 6-3. Scoring for the Canadians were Keenan Geer with three goals, Ryan Petch with two goals and one goal by Ryan O'Leary. Scoring one goal each for the Leafs were Taylor Churchill, Timothy Cruickshank and Mark Morrisson. Nine-11 Year Olds On Monday, April 11 the Pan- thers beat the Ducks 9-7. Scor- ing three goals each for the Pan- thers were Jon Sanders and Jeremey Hull and one goal each by Russell Brown, Ryan Kelly and Jason Cruickshank. Scoring two goals each for the Ducks were Greg Hunter and David Halward and one goal each by Richard Brazier, Trevor Doam and Darren Muller. On Monday, April 18 the Ducks beat the Panthers 7-5. Scoring for the Ducks were Da- vid Halward with three goals and two goals each by Greg Hunter and Steve Doam. The Panthers goals were scored by Jeremey Hull with two goals and one goal each b Ryan Kelly, Jason ruickshank and Jon Sanders.
