I was quite glad to read that I'm normally astute and I don't believe that this attribute has left me either. Let me say that my comment about noxious emissions has nothing what ever to do with "regurgitating the party line" in respect to phe- to radar. By chance, I happened to read an environmental publi- cation that said governments across Canada had agreed to the enforcement of strict speed limits some three years ago. The article went on to say, that like other good environmental measures, this one had also fal- len by the wayside, despite the promises made that strict speed limits would be enforced. I don't think there is any doubt at all that car emissions contribute to our environmental problems. Speeding adds to those prob- lems much more than people think. My column, that comes out of my own head each Sun- day afternoon with some regu- larity, quite often does not "re- gurgitate any party line." In fact sometimes its the opposite. However, since photo radar seems to be so dreadful, I thought I would add something William Sandiford SHEL CIT CER CT SST EN ST Cl JRE * Business Concepts & Solutions « Computerized Accounting set-up * Electronic Countermeasures » Local Area Networks (LAN's) + Software and Hardware « Training and Support (905) 985-1877 Agriculture - Commercial [3 [VES (dF: [RETa le MRT ETL Port Perry Optical . I think the choice of expres- sion, by Mr. Charles, of "being unable to screw the people suffi- ciently with all other taxes, was the reason for photo radar" was in extremely poor taste. Mr. Charles knows better than to say than, than most. Sincerely, Gordon L. Mills, C.D.,,M.P.P.
