(health) I am almost seven months pregnant and just recently lost my job to plant closures for the second time. Firs of all, to get unemploy- ment [ had to pay the doctor to sign my U.I.C. maternity form for regular benefits because I'm so far along in my pregnancy. The cost averages out to approx- imately $15 per form. My next concern is circumci- sion. There are two fees involved for this procedure, one by the doctor and another by the hospital. After phoning five different hospitals I found the costs vary greatly. In the following paragraph are the hospitals contacted and the approximate hospital and doctors fees quoted. Charges at the Oshawa Hospital are $100 and the doc- tors fee is $75, Uxbridge Hospital fee $32 and doctor $38, Scarborough Hospital gives a total cost of $140, Ajax was $75 and Community Memorial Hospital does not have a fee yet, but will in about one month's time. The doctor fee in Port Perry is $50 at this time. As you can see, there is quite a difference in fees for this pro- cedure. Apparently the large companies have har- vested most of the trees availa- ble and now want more free rides. The slogan used here is - the future generation planting trees for their future. These young people are being asked to show good will and trust these trees will be for their future and not given to the lobbying forest- ers again. These young people deserve good will in return and the pro- vincial government should be enacting a law which assures us these trees will not be given away as the past growths were. The provincial law states all wood and water resources be- price. There should be a charge for the job, but how much? A concerned Mother God Bless Scouts long to the government. Past performance shows the govern- ment has carelessly allowed harvesting of our forests by the companies with very little re- turn to the people. We need written assurance this won't happen once more when these millions of seedlings become valuable forests. Our young people are not so gullible as to believe hollow promises of the past. Let us have a law which will show these trees planted by the peo- ple will truly belong to the peo- ple of the future in the future.
