The new store, which showcases the fur creations of Paula Lishman and sculptures of Bill Lishman, held an open house to mark the opening of their first store. Peter Hvidsten Port Perry Star The internationally renowned team of Bill and Paula Lishman opened what is described as "their first retail store," in downtown Port Perry last Friday evening. Mr. Lishman, who is known for his artistic sculptures and recent migrations with geese, and his wife Paula whose inno- vative knit furs are sought world-wide will sell and display their products in their Queen St. store. On hand to mark the occasion and assist in the official opening were representatives from al levels of government, business colleagues, friends and employees of the Lishman's. Prior to the cutting of a fur- covered stainless steel ribbon, Durham MP Alex Shepherd "Seratet presented a certificate to the couple from Prime Minister Chretien. Durham East MPP Gord Mills called the Lishmans a "credit to the community," and said it was nice to see such an enterprise in downtown Port Perry.
