An interesting con- test was held on April 6 called the Pudgy Bunny Contest. The object of this contest was to see who could put the most marsh- mallows in their mouth and then say pudgy bunny. The win- ner of this fascinating contest was Helen Craning. On April 5 an Easter Egg Hunt was held with 23 resi- dents participating. We had a tie for first place so a coin was tossed to determine who would be the winner of a beautiful pot of mums. Jennie Bailey won the toss and Joan Tuck won the coin that was used for the toss. On April 8, Mrs. Jeffery's class at R.H. Cornish School paid a visit and read Easter sto- ries to the residents. This was a very enjoyable time for all. The ladies of Port Perry United Church were the hosts of the monthly birthday party on April 27. The residents, espe- cially those celebrating April birthdays, enjoyed a singsong and the cake and ice cream. Thank you to all of the ladies who came to make this after- noon possible. Most other days of the month were filled with baking and crafts in preparation for the day ofthe bazaar. May 1 was a very special day for Edna Larmer. Edna turned 100 years old. A party in her honor will be held at the Nurs- ing Home on May 11. Other res- idents celebrating birthdays in May are Olive Beacock (one), Norman Wilson (one), Estelle Dalzell (nine), Alice Barthou (17), Vera Honey (29) and Sarah Fulford (28). Happy birthday to all. The bazaar was a big success thanks to all who made it possi- ble. The community for their support and help, the families, the vendors, and most especial- ly to all the volunteers who give so many hours of their time both before, during and after the bazaar. The support that we receive is what makes these two annual events very rewarding. All of the money that is raised is what keeps the activity pro- gram going. On Monday, May 9, the resi- dents celebrated the success of the bazaar with a success tea at which time they also evaluated the day and made some sugges- tions for future events.
