"A Family Tradition for 128 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, June 28,1994 - 13 Theatre groups agree to restore Town Hall 1873 A historical landmark in Port Perry is about to get a facelift. Scugog Council and a coali- tion of theatre groups came to an agreement on funding for im- provements to Town Hall 1873. The improvements to the his- toric hall at the Corner of Sim- coe and Queen Streets is esti- mated at $57,000. The expenditures include new seating ($8,740), portable risers ($19,017), air condition- ing ($20,000), gas furnace ($8,000) and external tower re- pairs ($1,300). Under the terms of the finan- cial agreement, the township will provide bridge financing to the group with the money being paid back over a five-year peri- od. The group has already raised $9,800 towards the cost.
