July holds several events to celebrate museum's anniversary Plans are well underway for Scugog Shores Museum's 25th anniversary celebrations in the month of July. The first event is "Music in the Village" to be held on Satur- day, July 2 and Sunday, July 3. Various musical groups will be performing. Groups which range from country and blue- grass to dixie to classical. Solo- ists and groups will be perform- ing at various locations throughout the museum grounds. Admission is free for thisevent. On Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24 there will be a celebration of steam and rail- way days. Displays and demon- strations of steam machines, Hospital plans garden party Community Memorial Hospi- tal together with Southport Country Gardens presents "Garden Party," a garden tour with a difference on Sunday, July 10, 1994 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors will be treated to tours of eight gardens culminat- ing in a "Garden Party" to be held on the grounds of the Scu- gog Shores Museum, Scugog Is- land. Mr. Murphy was the guest speaker at last month's well attended Historical Society meeting at which time he spoke about the old railway and showed his model. The final event of the month and another first for the Port a tea arranged by the ladies ot the Scugog Island Head U.C.W. Members of the Grand Mas- querade Gala Committee will be circulating in costumes to promote and provide visitors with information about the Grand Masquerade being held on Oct. 15, 1994 at Goreski's Re- sort. The Grand Masquerade Gala is a celebration for the comple- tion of the hospital expansion, a grand opening for the communi- ty, a history book on the hospi- tal, as well as this being the 25th anniversary for the hospi- tal on Paxton Street.
