It couldn't have been any nicer weatherwise and about 45 people gathered on the lawn of Doug and Flor- ence Ashton at 10 a.m. for wor- ship. After everyone was seated comfortably, Rev. Sheina Smith led in worship. Her scripture readings were from Genesis 2:4- 9, 16-17, with the sermon titled "The Tree of Knowledge". Shar- men Porter sang "Amazing Grace" accompanied on the key- board by Eva Hunter. Following the service, everyone enjoyed a visit and the delicious pot luck luncheon, and just a happy time together. Wednesday evening of this week, Brooklin Horticultural Society will hold their general meeting and annuals show at Brooklin United Church at 8 p.m. Special speaker for the eve- ning will be Andrea Clark, ad- dressing the topic "Weed Identi- fication". So, if you want to learn more about all those weeds growing in your fence corners and on your property, you will enjoy this speaker. As well, the annuals show is one of the biggest shows of the year, with a total of 37 classes in the flower specimens, and 18 class- es in the fruits and vegetables. So select your best from your garden and bring it along to the show, and compete with your fellow members. Itis fun and re- warding.
