There were about 450 young people playing with Port Perry and District Minor Softball, with four T-ball teams; 10 - sev- en-eight Mite teams; 10 - nine- 10 Mite teams; five Youth Girls teams; four Youth Boys teams and six Youth Lob Ball teams. There were also "rep" teams in the Mites, Squirts, Peewee, Bantam Boys, Bantam Girls and Juveniles. Port Perry was put on the map yet again by our talented Juvenile team who won the All- Ontario Juvenile title. This was the third such All-Ontario title for most of these young men in as many years. Needless to say there are many people who have volun- teered their time to be conven- ors, and coaches as well as our wonderful sponsors. However, there are countless hours of "behind the scenes" work that must be done in order to keep our association running effectively. Sadly, that is where we are lacking manpower. Staying on top of every aspect of running successful programs is a huge job for a handful of people. If you are interested in help- ing out with Port Perry Minor Softball Executive please plan to attend our upcoming general meeting. No experience is nec- essary - just a willingness to pitchin and help. The annual general meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the Latcham Center on Oct. 5, 1994.
