In other earthshak- Ing action, the Taylor Aces now have a victory to their credit so all teams have now registered points in the young season! Sunday's highlights start- ed with the Monsma Charg- ers and Pineridge Phantoms playing to a 3-3 draw. Jason Warner led the "Electric Company" in this one with a goal and two assists. Duane Bronson and Lee Wilbur also had counters. For the Pineridge boys, Robert Van Camp had the big game with two goals and an assist. Sean Fewer added the other marker to give both teams an important single point. Game two saw the Fitzge- rald Clippers "blast" the Van World Sharks out of the wa- ter with a 7-3 score. Larry Pilkey led the "Weed Eaters" with a four goal and one as- sist performance. Tom Pat- ton, Derek Fitzgerald and Doug Bronson chipped in sin- gles to seal the victory. The Sharks had replies from Wayne Fox, Scott Davis and "Tate" Adam but that was it as the famous Shark Attack was nowhere to be found. Game three was an histor- ic event for the 94/95 season as the Taylor Aces downed the J&D Hawks 3-1 to take their first victory of the sea- son. The Hawks scored first on an unassisted effort by co- sponsor Dennis Lycett, but then the Aces took over on a pair of goals by Toddy Wilbur and a single from Rick Camp- bell to silence the doubtful critics. Sunday's fourth game saw the Crandell's Gamblers and the Pizza Delight Devils play toa2-2draw. The Gamblers were al- ready counting a turkey din- ner two points as Robert Evans and Mark Decosta put them in the driver's seat. However, with just three sec- onds left on the clock, Devils' "sharpshooter" John Mackey found the twine to give the trol. Yes, it is true sports fans, Jim Beatty did score for the Blazers along with Dale Bronson, David Roth, Darcy Milligan and John Harman to take their fifth victory in a row! The lone Compton reply had Paul Goreski get the counter from Roger Moase and Dave Dickson. For Gore- ski, this is rather special as he has spent most of his hockey career trying to pre- vent goals rather than scor- ing them! Well, with Sunday compe- tition over, loads of turkey consumed and timekeeper Jeff Card's 19th birthday party out of the way, it was time to get busy for the Thanksgiving Monday Spe- cial at the local icepad! 'Game one saw those amaz- ing Harrison Blazers stretch their unbeaten record to a perfect six games as they humbled the Fitzgerald Clip- pers 7-0. Darcy Milligan and John Harman continue to tear up the league as Harman had three goals and two assists while Milligan settled for two goals and one assist. Dave Milton had a pair of goals and, of course, Jim Beatty counted an assist as the Blazers continued to dominate. Don't forget that Ken Har- man in goal got the well- deserved shutout and is an important part of the Blazer success to date, with his mea- gre goals against average! Game two saw the J&D Hawks get their act together after losing to the Aces on Sunday, and they pulled to- gether to down the Cran- dell's Gamblers 3-2. The Gamblers took the early lead on goals by Mark Decosta and Ken Jeffrey but those Hawks came storming back with three unanswered tallied by co-sponsor Joe Curran, Peter Lane and Kei- Jo Kinnunen to take their sec- ond victory of the season. Steve Conners and Jay Adam replied but other than Wayne Fox with two as- sists and Doug Seeley with a single, that was it for the Sharks as they continue to look for the secret to a second victory. Game four saw the Taylor Aces find their winning streak end at one as the Pine- ridge Phantoms cruised to a convincing 5-0 victory. Sean Parker in the Phan- tom net was full credit for the shutout and Fred Moffatt, Robert Van Camp, Brian Sa- mis, Jim Fowler and Bill Van Camp supplied the fire pow- erin this "one-sided affair". The final game of this spe- cial weekend proved to be a real hot battle between the Monsma Chargers and the Pizza Delight Devils. A con- troversial last minute effort by the Devils fell short of the mark as the Chargers took the 4-3 victory. The Chargers had a two goal and two assist performance by "scoring ace" Bill Bridge and singles from Lee Wilbur and John Robert- son to capture the two points. John Mackey with two goals and Bill Foote with a single kept the Devils close but empty-handed in the points column at the final buzzer. : Numerous assists were credited throughout the weekend as team play be- comes the focus to success once again in the SHL. A rather busy weekend and a few pounds of turkey are now a thing of the past as the shorter days and cool weath- er bring all teams to the hockey frenzy that makes each week in the SHL a spe- cial event at Scugog Arena!
