On Nov. 5, the annual St. John Fall Supper will be held beginning at 4:30 p.m. This is the same evening as the Black- stock Fiddle Contest so a splen- did opportunity to go out for supper followed bv an evening of great entertainment. Special guests will be Graham and El- eanor Townsend - Graham will entertain while Eleanor will be ajudge. The following day at 4 p.m. a special choir from Royal St. George's College will be at St. John's Anglican Church for evensong. This choir has made several tours around the world and to many points in North America. Andrew Barlow is at this college and a parishioner of St. John's. A great event. Blackstock Women's Insti- tute by Lois Luke, P.R.O. Blackstock Women's Insti- tute was held at the Blackstock United Church on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. with 14 mem- bers and two visitors present. The theme of the meeting, Ca- nadian Industries, with Helen Dorrell as convenor. Roll call: What you like or dis- like about your local newspaper was well answered. The motto "I wish someone would invent.." A group visit was made to Mrs. Merle Heintzman's home with her museum collection which was very interesting. WORKS ON NEW CARS, USED CARS, EVEN Thank you, Mrs. Heintzman, on behalf ofthe W.I. group. The W.I. grace was sung and a lovely lunch served by the committee in charge. Mrs. Flora Samells will be moving later to her new home in Orono. We will miss you, Flora. Back from Mrs. Heintzman's museum, the W.I. business meeting was held. The presi- dent, Mrs. Pat Sleep, opened with the Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. A special guest was Mrs. Margaret Tufts from Sou- ris, Manitoba, who is visiting Helen Dorrell with her hus- band. The minutes were read as were several letters. Matters discussed were Fun Fair on Oct. 13, the Royal Winter Fair booth on Nov. 10 and the Christmas Craft and Food Day at the Hampton Church on Nov. 8 at 9:15a.m. The meeting closed with the singing of O Canada.
