She was the eighth child in the family of nine chil- dren of Elizabeth and Pascoe Luke. Gladys attended Epsom Public School, Port Perry High School and then completed her formal education at Business College in Toronto. She worked as a secretary until her mar- riage to Cecil Morrison on Nov. 17,1928. This was a double wedding, her sister Leola being married to Everett Hooper at the same time, in the little white cottage in Epsom, where their parents had retired just three years ear- lier. Gladys and Cecil lived in To- ronto for many years and were the proud and loving parents of Bill, Helen and George. Upon Cecil's retirement, they built a cottage on Isobel Island, near Parry Sound, and spent their summers there, and their win- ters in Florida. Cecil passed away on Oct. 31, 1963, but Gla- dys continued to spend sum- mers at the cottage and winters in Florida. On Sept. 18, 1973, Gladys married David Elon Spotts, whose home was in Jonesville, Michigan, and so the pattern of her life was slightly altered. Then it was summer in Jones- ville, but lots of visits to Toron- to, Port Perry and Parry Sound. In Sept. 1988, Gladys and Elon moved into Vista Grande Villa in Jackson, Michigan, and it was here that Gladys passed awayon Aug. 9,1994. Gladys was predeceased by sisters Velma, Florence, Olive, Gertrude, Blanche, Myrtle and Leola, and her brother Luther. She is survived by son William and his wife Vivian, daughter Helen and her husband Peter Robinson, son George and his wife Marilyn and grandchil- dren, Jay and John, Janet and John, and John and Lynn Ann, and great-grandchildren Joey and Marshall. She is also re- membered lovingly by many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held in the Wagg Funeral Home "McDermott-Panabaker Chap- el", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 1 p.m. with Rev. J. H. Brown as minister. Burial was at Sunder- land Cemetery. SMALL IW ENGINE & MARINE & REPAIR (905) 985-3192 17300 Simcoe St. N. Port Perry, Ont.
