Scugog trustee Bobbie Drew said last week that "broad-based technology" upgrades at the school, which had been scheduled to take place this year, will have to be held until 1995. While the Durham Board of Education put up its share of the funding for the improve- ments, the provincial Ministry of Education won't be provid- ing money in 1994, said Mrs. Drew. by province The board will bank the money for the 1994 project and contribute more in hopes of securing provincial funding for 1995, said Mrs. Drew. "It's my understanding that we still have the money set aside for 1994, and it will be held over for next year," she said. The project, an enhance- ment of tech programs at the school, includes purchase of computers and some renova- tions, said Mrs. Drew. The province has dictated the improvements for imple- mentation by local boards, said Mrs. Drew. By Cathy Olliffe Port Perry Star What on adr) is Marlene Russell up to now? It all came about when Mar- lene paid a rare visit to her friend, Shar Mitchell, a re- searcher for 'What On Earth'. It was supposed to be a social occa- sion, filled with plenty of (you guessed it) laughter, but that all changed when Shar asked Mar- lene to appear on the show. The question was raised before the two women even left the air- port. "Before I had my luggage off = COMPUTERS New and used Systems from $650 and up MultiMedia Systems ibe A $1,199.
