School year's a busy time with lots to do By Jill MacDonald, Kim Perrott and Dana Loback The volleyball team has just been picked and they are off to a good start. The games are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The captain of the boys volleyball team is David Middleton and captain of the girls volleyball team is Ashley Slack. The Book Fair was on Tues- day the 1st, Wednesday the 2nd and Thursday 3rd of November. There was a good selection of books. The library got 90 new books from the profits. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11 month, Remem- brance Day takes place. We will be singing three songs called The Strangest Dream, Beauty In The World and Let Us Re- member. We will be having a ceremony in the Old School on Friday the 11th. We will be in- viting some of the seniors of the Epsom community. LIFE By Brennan and David On Wednesday, Oct. 26, it was Family Night at Green- bank P.S. We hope everybody had a great time. : The 5/6 class went to Durha Forest on the Oct. 11 and 12. All of us had a great time! We learned how to use a compass, played a lot of games, and we got to go out in the forest by our- selves. Chris Johnson came to show us the hazards and dangers of electricity around our school and home. On Friday, Oct. 28, Constable Sam Fox came to Epsom to talk about safety on Halloween. CLASSIFIED By Mervyn Frame, Nicholas Cooper and Nicholas Spence Epsom's Scholastic Book Fair arrived with all kinds of R.L. Stine books and every other kind of book you canimagine. A thank you to Mrs. Beirness for leading our cross country team to success. Thank you also for arranging the girls volley- ball team. We thank Mr. Scott and Mrs. Hansen for arranging baseball at lunch. As well, thank you to Mr. Scott for ar- ranging the boys volleyball team. We would like to thank Mrs. Christie for the new Ep- som flag. Mrs. Christie first made the flag in 1983 after a school contest in which two stu- dents made the flag. The flag was getting old so a new one was made. Come into Epsom and see this great flag. BUSINESS By Brett, Thomas and Scott The Book Fair was on at Ep- som Public School from Tues- day, Nov. 1 to Thursday, Nov. 3. The Book Fair had a great selec- tion of Best Sellers. Some of the Best Sellers were Goosebumps by R.L. Stine and Emergency Room by Carol B. Coony for Grades 4 to 6. Some best sellers for Grades K-2 were The New Baby Calf and Santa's Journey. The money we raised is for new resources in the library. We hope everyone had fun! We had a magazine sale at Epsom. We got prizes if we sold a certain magazine. Congratu- lations to Claire Cooper who won the phone by picking the lucky sucker. We raised about $3,500. Since we all did so well, we are going to have an ice cream party. 139 Water Street ORT PERRY "has auto glass & trim Id, en Written shaven Guarantee F ~ I 3 INSURANCE WORK SAVE uto On any one replacement Insurance Claim WINDSHIELD *50°° with most insurance companies with this coupon at time of purchase 3 Locations ® Mobile Service 985-8507 Port Perry All Work Guaranteed 668-2003 Whitby (=P a ad-100"A ML-JaF- 3 e[V] 'BREAKFAST VATH SANTA Saturday, December 10, 1994 OUR ENTIRE INVENTORY, ALL NEW, USED AND DEMONSTRATORS, MUST BE CLEARED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ARRIVING 1995 PRODUCTS. 94 Buick LeSabre Custom, 4 Door, Co-Car, White, Low km, Original Price $22500. 94 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Wagon, sed, 10000 km, Whit, Original Price $21900.
