In their first game, they faced off against Bracebridge. The Techstars were short a couple of players due to injuries and just didn't seem to be awake yet. The result was a 5-11loss. Goalie Rob Sim stopped shot after shot on many occasions, to keep the score respectable. The Techstars' goal was scored on a one-timer by Ryan Puckrin on a nice pass by Scott Sanderson. In game two, they were up against Whitby. The 2-1 victory may sound like a defensive bat- tle but it wasn't quite like that. The offensive aspect of the Techstars' game didn't seem to be there as their passes were off. The Whitby goalie was for the most part untested. At the same time, the Tech- stars' goalie Doug Short made many great saves to ensure the Techstars win. The goals were scored by Scott Sanderson and Dillian Weber. Assisting were Weber and Adam "Bullet" Brain. ward County. The Techstars were back on their game for this one and came away with a 5-2 win, de- spite a slow start. Prince Edward County drew first blood just under 30 seconds into the game. The Techstars got that one back a few minutes later on an unassisted goal by Dave Gai- ney. The Techstars took the lead when Ryan Puckrin gave the puck to Dan Lyons who skated past everyone and put one in the net. Prince Edward County tied it up a minute later. Techstars goalie Doug Short then closed the cage for the night, making numerous great saves. Early in the second, Scott Sanderson scored to make it 3- 2, assisted by Dave Kaminga and Glen McCready. Scott Harper scored next on a beautiful coast to coast goal to make it 4-2. J. P. Copeland rounded out the scoring on a breakaway assisted by "Bullet". The Techstars' next home For game three of the day, 8ame is Wednesday night their opponent was Prince Ed- against Oshawa. (% Ee | your needs. The first period saw some great end- to-end hockey and great defen- sive plays. Stouffville got the first goal o1 the game in the first period. The start of the second period was the same style of hockey and great plays by both teams. Stouffville went ahead by two goals, that's when our guys re- grouped and got one back 59 seconds later. Schembri got this one while the assist went to Skerratt. I. The rest of the game was de- cided by our refs, it was just one penalty after another. It seems when we play home games, the refs decide our games and don't let the boys play some great hockey. There were a couple of good calls but the majority of them were un- called for, and really spoiled the game and atmosphere. The only thing I would like to say is: What are you, new? The final score was 5-1 in fa- vor of Stouffville. Our boys all played great and went home proud.
