In addition to closing Palmer Park off for the festival, council decided to make the area off- limits to snowmobiles for the entire winter. They agreed to post "no snow- mobiling signs" in an area across the lakefront bounded by the most northerly fence of the north ball diamond to Queen St. All councillors agreed snow- mobiles did not need to be using the park for.recreation with so much area for them to use on the lake.
