Herod wanted to kill him 80 he toled the wise men to come back and tell him were Jesus was. But being warned in a dream, they didn't go and tell herod. So they all went to Jesus and presented him with gifts and thats what Christmas real- lyis!! Carolyn Piersma, Grade 5 The Great Christmas Search Joe and Mary couldn't wait because it was Christmas in one day. Their mom and dad were rushing around buying gifts for kids who don't get Christmas presents at all. Joe and Mary didn't know if their mom or dad were going to buy any gifts for them. It was 6:00 p.m. and their mom was getting supper ready. Their supper was turkey, pota- toes, soup, corn, and chicken. After supper Joe and Mary went to their rooms and went to bed very early. The next day they woke up very early. They had to wait 3 hours till their mom and dad woke up. But when Joe and Mary looked under the tree there wern't any presents. Joe and Mary. always liked to search for their presents. So Joe and Mary went to the basement first. They opened the door and right in front of their faces the presents were there. They picked them up like a flash. But some people came out and they said "those boxes aren't yours." Then the first shepherd said: "that box (point- ing to Joe's hands) contains a lamb. Then Joe felt the box move and he gave it back to the shepherd. Another shepherd said: "that box contains a blan- ket for a King." Mary said you mean for a king that will rule over this country?" The shepherd said: "No, No it's for a king that is in heaven and is coming back to earth to pick up the Christmas and bring them to heaven." With that they were gone. Joe and Mary went on their way searching for some other present other than a lamb or a blanket. They decided to go to the at- tick were their mom or dad would probably hide presents.
