STAR CHRISTMAS GREETINGS TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20, 1994 THE PORT PERRY STAR - 7C Immaculate Conception writer's tale By Sarah MacKenzie T'was the time of Christmas, 1994, Santa was lying passed out on the floor. The elves were at K-Mart in isles nine and ten. "Oh gosh," Santa belched "it's Christmas again." Mr. Thin- gamajig was standing in line, followed by many waiting be- hind. In Port Perry the ham- mers were a nailin', yet Butch and Gretchin were just a wai- lin'. "Mommy I want this! Dad- dy I want this! Let's go home! I'm hungry!" they cried. They knew what was coming wasn't going to be great, they were bad little children - the kind most would hate. As you can sense all wasn't well, reality was similar to a liv- ing uh, um, bad place. Well now enough of this complaining, let's go check in on good old Saint Nick. "Blue 42, Blue 54! Hut, hut come on Panthers!" Santa hollered. Then there came a knock at the door. "Aw pesky little kids they make me sick." As he opened the door he shouted "Whatta ya want?" There stood three little kids, that were so nice, kind of like sugar and spice. "Come on Santa" they plead- ed, "Where's your Christmas spirit? Families are falling apart and it's Christmas to- night." "But I don't know where to begin" Santa replied, with tears formingin his eyes. "Santa go take ajog and when you come back the elves and us kids will have Christmas back on track" they suggested. Santa came back all out of breath. "I feel better after my jog, I'm back to myself. No more Monday night football, I'm put- ting my chips back on the shelf. Never again will I be so dumb as to purchase my gifts and en- large my ol' tum. It is better if (Independent Gas Bar) 6558518 Santa's list is nearly done, His elves have all been busy. He'll load his sleigh and off he'll fly at heights that make us dizzy. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! You can depend on us! CASHWAY my gifts are homemade. No tags to scrape off and no bills to be paid. However, on my jog I saw a family so rude. They swore at each other and hurled insults so crude. The children's mouths needed a good wash. The things that they said were unbelieva- ble gosh! We must help them to become content. You three kids can help with intentions well meant. Let's go without further delay. I'll run outside and grab my sleigh." When they reached the house the children's mouths dropped. "How can this be?" asked the kids. "Guys it's Christmas. A time of loving and caring. You should be decorating a tree, wrapping gifts and sharing. § "Get a load of these guys! Shar- ing, yeah right!" laughed the § Thingamagigs family. The kids were in shock. It was worse than they had thought. There was no Christmas tree, and the gifts were all bought. blue." "Thanks for showing us that," Santa said smiling happi- ly. "We'd gotten too stupid, too lazy, and too fat, but all it took was three nice kids like you to saye Christmas from being over with and through." Now let this be a lesson to all you parents and kids, be ener- getic, do what you're told and all those bad Christmas's you'll rid. But let's not forget that it's not the tinsel, the mistletoe or the holly that make Christmas jolly, but being with the ones that you hold tight. MERRY CHRISTMAS TOALL AND TOALLA GOOD NIGHT "Mom," Gretchin cried "there gh, no is no food in the house not even 8 a mouse!" "Bob," Mother shout- Ja J 'ed "What have you done with 4 the grocery money?" "I spent it on gifts for you and @ Ch 2 the kids, honey" replied the fa- [ENS RS ther. "You spent 90 bucks!! What Ql Cs have you bought?" the mother By angrily shouted. Father explained "A wooden birdhouse and some toys is all that I've got." "You could have made them for less and doing it is a breeze. The elves and us kids here will show you how," they had sug- gested. "Cut out the pieces, § sand them and now you add some paint and there yougo." "That sounds simple. If only I'd knew," says the dad se ashamed. would be better instead of so BUILDING CENTRES "Our Christmas } H SUH Ma this glovious season mspre you to renew your faith mn Ham. .
