Legion Branch 419 Report Members busy at year's end By Geoff Taylor The last few months have been very busy ones at Branch 419. The 1994-95 Poppy Fund Campaign was an overwhelm- ing success. Thanks must go to the Poppy Fund Chairman Hei- di Cushing, for her planning, or- ganization and hard work. These type of campaigns do not just happen, they have to be made to work. We of the Royal Canadian Le- gion wish to thank all the busi- nesses in the area for their sup- port and donations, also our fellow citizens whom contribut- ed via the contribution boxes. The overall achievement could not have surpassed our goal without the help of those comrades, that put in countless hours of work during this cam- paign. In conjunction with Remem- brance, The Royal Canadian Le- gion conducts its annual poster and literary competitions. An exceptional amount of students entered this competition, whicl¢, was organized locally under the very experienced eye of Jack Lee. The Legion Turkey Roll and Christmas Draw was, held on Dec. 17 along with the chil- dren's Christmas party. Ruth Grant and her committee did an outstanding job with the chil- dren's party, fun and games were enjoyed by all. The branch extends a huge thanks to those businesses that donated prizes for our Christ- mas draw. This draw and tur- key roll were the most success- ful in many years.
