Tara Jackson, 17, was airlifted to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto after the crash, just before 1 a.m. on Island Rd., Durham Regional Police said. Police said Ms Jackson was the driver of a 1992 Pontiac that was southbound on Island Rd. around 12:66 a.m. Monday (March 13) when it hit the gravel shoulder. It appears the driver over-corrected and lost control of the vehicle, which skidded off the road and slammed into a cement pillar. Ms Jackson was trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed by Scugog firefighters, police said. A passenger, Angela Colacicco, 17, of Oshawa, sus- tained injuries for which she was treated at Community Memorial Hospital in Port Perry, and released.
