Cawker Daffodil Day has been set for Friday, March 31 and the girls with their lovely blooms for sale at $4 a bunch will be stationed at different locations in Port Perry. More volunteers are needed to sell the flowers as well! Headquarters will be cam- paign chairperson Doris Tay- lor's home on 156380 Simcoe Street. So folks, support the sale of these lovely spring flow- ers on March 31. The Annual Drive for Funds re Cancer for the Township of Scugog will be in full swing in the month of April, which is set aside as cancer month. During that period, many volunteers will be engaged in an all out ef- fort to have a successful cam- paign. With Doris Taylor, chair- person at the helm, with 29 captains and 250 canvassers, the local Society is gearing up for one tremendous drive. The entire month is needed - due to folks not being home from the south early in the month. The people of each community are urged to support this important cause. We have received won- derful response in past years, and this has been sincerely ap- preciated by the many dedicat- ed volunteers as well as the So- ciety. The key phrase for a volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society is "to care". The fight against this dreadful dis- ease is everybody's fight. It is not simply a gracious gesture to contribute to the campaign but an act of self-preservation. So, join the crusade against cancer - your best investment for health and happiness. You know, folks, we are losing more people from cancer - each year the number increases, so do your level best. More volun- teers would be welcomed. They are badly needed! She was assisted by friend Dorothy Munro. i Lovely food was in abundance and the 30 ladies present en- Joyed the delicious array of food to the utmost!
