They are: Mark Sherriffs, Matt Holditch (2 gold), Alex McKay (2 silver), Nicholas Byers (2 silver, bronze), Pierce Jones (bronze, 2 fourths), Will Mount, Greg Hunter, Brett Combdon (3 fourths), Donnie Sherriffs (silver), Jordan McKay (silver, fourth). Cartwright Minor Ball Association is finalizing the details for the hardball af- filiation for the upcoming season. This year a new affiliation has been forged with the hardball association in Clar- ington (formerly Newcastle). After two years of affiliation with Scugog Base- ball, it has become necessary to look elsewhere for an. organization with which Cartwright hardball teams could playin affiliation with. - David Elliott, hardball liaison for Cartwright Minor Ball has been busy hammering out the final details in or- der to prepare the league for hardball play. From all appearances this looks to be an association which will benefit both Clarington and Cartwright teams. Some of the parents may recall from years gone by the Cartwright teams did play in association with teams in the Newcastle area. CMB finalizing plans for start of season This year CMB has renewed that af- filiation and therefore an old rivalry has been resurrected. The teams will play their games in Blackstock, Nestle- ton, Tyrone, Bowmanville, Orono and Courtice. This association will give the Cartwright teams a higher profile in these areas. Preparations for the softball and youth lob ball divisions are also being fi- nalized. This year, CMB is expecting to field almost 400 players on a total of 33 teams. This will see a player increase over last seasons registration by almost 10 per cent. If you have not registered to play, you may do so by contacting Patsy. Sonne at 986-9607. An assessment day 18 planned for Saturday, April 8 at the Blackstock Arena for player skill as- sessment. This day will be the last op- portunity to register without a late fee being assessed for registration. Nestleton Hardball registration to be held on Saturday, April 8 Only seven weeks left before the first pitch of the ball season!! With sign ups to date well beyond expected lev- els, Nestleton Hardball is holding the last formal registration day, Satur- day, April 8 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nestleton ball diamond shelter. In the cast of inclement weather, players can register either at Pineridge Sports or Causeway Service. The league is open to male and female players 10 to 20 years of age. Players from the Black- stock, Nestleton, Caesar- ea and Janetville areas are encouraged to sign up Cartwright ball assessment day The date for the CMB skills assessment day has been set. Time to get out the ball gloves and loosen up the arthritis that has taken hold of them over the winter months and then bring it with you that day. If you have signed up to play ball this season, you will need to attend this assessment day. The purpose of skills assess- ment is to evaluate indi- vidual player skill levels and then with these re- sults select teams that are closely matched in playing ability. The skills assess- ment will be held at the Blackstock Arena in Blackstock on Saturday, April 8 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The assessment times are as follows: Born - 1989-1990-1991 - 8a.m.-10a.m. Born - 1987-1988 - 10 a.m. - noon Born - 1985-1986 - noon -1:30 p.m. Born - 1983-1984 - 1:30 p.m. -2:30 p.m. Born - 1980-1981-1982 - 2:30 p.m. -3:30 p.m. Born - 1976-1977-1978- 1979 -3:30-4:30 p.m. If you have more than one family member play- ing ball you may have them assessed in one time slot.
