He expected more severe cuts to meet the target, he said. The budget details expenditures of $7,728,692 with rev- enues of $4,142,195 requiring a tax levy of $3,686,497. Last year's budget came in at expenditures of $7.88 million with rev- enues of $4.34 million and a tax levy of $3.54 million. What pleased Mayor Hall most about the bud- get is it came in with no increase, despite the fact the township is under- taking a major project with Scugog Centre. The new community hall accounted for 13 per cent of the township's budget. Leading the way in this year's budget was the roads department, which accounted for 34 per cent of the budget. Administration account- ed for 12 per cent of the budget and the environ- ment and fire department 8 and 7.5 per cent of the budget, respectively. Mayor Hall says the administration numbers are low compared to other municipalities and although the fire depart- ment budget is higher than other townships, that's because Scugog must have equipment for two halls, while other townships such as . Uxbridge only have one hall to fund. While this year's bud- get will show no increase to taxpayers, Mayor Hall 1s concerned that next year's budget will be much more difficult. The township is short- staffed right now and that will affect the budget next year, he said. Happy 16th BRENNEN April 13th, 1995 Did you fail to claim a deduction or credit to which you are entitled?
