The first day of spring is one thing and the first spring day is another, wrote Henry Van Dyke in 1899. The difference be- tween them is sometimes as great as a month. It seems that things haven't changed much since Van Dyke's time and the best way to wish spring into ex- istenceis to act like it has already arrived and plan accordingly. Easter will be welcomed this coming Sunday, April 16 - the Easter celebra- tion! A Special Note Yours truly was pleas- antly surprised one eve- ning during the week when two little girls came to the door at 8 p.m. and presented me with an Easter card and a lovely Easter bunny. A thank you to Meagen and Melis- sa - ( I do not know their last names so can't get in touch). Then again on Sat- urday after shopping I found another Easter card at my door with a nice Easter message - but no name. ( I do thank the do- nor). Would these little children get in touch with me by Shone (986-4715) so I can thank them proper- 1y! Best Wishes Heartfelt wishes for bet- ter health go out to good friends in hospitals and the nursing home. Each day yours truly thinks of you and prays for better health soon. Meal Enjoyed A very tasty meal was enjoyed at the Nestleton Community Centre on Saturday evening when the Pine Ridge Garden Club catered to the large number attending. Quite a successful venture and those in charge are to be congratulated!! Cancer Campaign Keep in mind the Can- cer campaign which is now in full swing during the month of April. When the canvasser calls at your door, please give as gener- ously as you possibly can - it is most important that we all do our level best to curb this dreaded disease! . Nestleton Presbyterian Church In keeping with the sea- son, the children for Sun- day School assembled' waving their Palm Branches and an Easter Lily decorated the chan- cel. Rev. Fairley conduct- ed the service and Joyce Taylor was organist. The ushers were Graham Ham and Oliver Rohrer. The responsive Psalm reading was #118 and the scripture was from Isaiah 50, and Luke 19. In the sermon, Rev. Fairley's message was the observance of Palm Sun- day or Passion Sunday, as we near Good Friday. The search for peace and satis- faction of mind is the goal we search for, in the face of disturbing world disas- ters. Following the service a social cup of tea and lunch was enjoyed in the Sunday School Room. You are invited to wor- ship with us next Sunday at 11 a.m. for Easter Ser- vice. 14 X 28 KIDNEY POOL E "9999 3 North American Pool & Spa 1622 Scugog St., Port Perry (905) 985-3667 1-800-662-6864 Call for your replac ement liner quotation Spas from 2497 | a al
