It's the second year for the fast in benefit of World Vision and they hope to exceed the $1,100 they raised in pledges last year. NOXIOUS WEEDS Representatives from Sutton Group Realty approached council last month with requesting a Special Purpose Commercial designation to allow the fast food chain. More than 100 neigh- bors and residents turned out at the meeting to voice their objections. Written objections to the develop- ment were also received by council. Residents were con- cerned about the com- mercial industry infring- ing on their residential neighborhood as well as concerns over cooking and garbage odors, traffic, pedestrian, noise and lighting concerns as well as depreciating property values. Neither council nor the residents were opposing the franchise's right to set up shop in Port Perry, but felt there are several areas already zoned com- mercial that would be more appropriate loca- tions.
