That word is exciting. Many games came down to final batters providing some exciting and anxious moments for all in attendance. T-BALL Analda Garden Centre -17 Superspud-16 Caitlyn Hellingman contin- ued her strong play for Analda collecting a home run and a dou- ble. Warren Jackson chipped in with a triple while the defensive stars for the winners were Thomas Prendergast and Natlie Dejong. Luke Michel led the Spud- sters with two runs and some strong defensive play. Amanda Keeler also played well defen- sively while Jessica Billings, and Johnathon Vanoostveen scored two runs each. LionCubs-19 Figure Skating Club -18 - The marvels of T-ball took centre stage as the Cubs scored all nine batters in the last in- ning to eek out the one run victo- ry. The long ball prevailed as Ca- leb Sprang had two home runs while Scott Banks and Kale Wardlaw had a homer and a triple each. Also hitting round trippers were Charlayn Stinson and Mercedes Weber. Leading the B.F.S.C. to a big lead early were two home runs by Nathan Alpe and Nathan Evans with a four bagger and a double. Tyke Spring Grove Agri-Vaders - 8 Baker Auto - 4 Greg Banks strong pitching and Darcee Grove's RBI led the Vaders to victory. Ashley Bron- son got an RBI for the Roadrun- ners key hit. Agri-vaders-4 Philp Firebirds - 2 Joel Michel led the Vaders this time around with a key dou- ble to carry his team to victory. For the Firebirds, Steven Larm- er made a great defensive play to snuff out a Vaders rally while Michael Hazelden got a RBI sin- gle. Mites Lishmans-12-Turners-11 In a close see saw battle Lish- man's won their second game of the season. Jeffery Krann led the winners with a home run while Mark Carnaghan and Kayla Evans collected singles. Key hits for Turner's were from Hayley Campbell. Jeremy Morrison with a double and Warren Keeler with a triple. Both teams played an excel- lent game accounting for the one run difference. H&M-11-Cummings-9 A valiant comeback attempt fell a bit short for Cummings as H & M held on for the narrow victory. H & M were led by Melissa Killen who scored three runs as well as hitting a home run. Ke- ven Arseneault also had a home run while Chase James had a triple to help put H & M to their early lead. Brittany Simms played a strong game for Cummings at catcher while Scott Philp made a pop fly out. IGA -16-Nestleton Store -13 Excitement plus was the word for this exciting game. The game see-sawed back and forth with NCS taking a one run lead into the openinginning. IGA answered as Janice Ka- dowaki hit in the tying run while the much improved Sean McKenna hit a key double to knock in the go ahead runs. IGA also got round trippers from Ka- tie Vanstrien and. Alex Blue while Jamie Newman made a fine third out catch to end the fourth. Geer had three runs to lead NCS while Tyler Cyr had two RBI's and T J Parker played a strong game at second. Mike Hobbs was shook up at the end of the game as he was tagged hard at home plate to end the game. All reports are that little Mikey will be back for the next game. Squirt Martyn Consulting -32 Cornhusker-19 An explosive open inning with 16 runs lifted Martyn's to the. win. Evan Jones and Jessica McLaughlin had home runs for the winners while Vicky Ellis made a great catch. The Cornhuskers trailed ear- ly but rallied back to take the lead before the inevitable open inning. Cory Manns and An- drew Hudson led Mann's with doubles. Antrim House -13 SwainSeceds-11 Antrim House remained in first place with another narrow victory. Josh Ferguson led the win- ners with some strong defense as well as a triple. Stephanie Kingswell hadahomerunand a double plus provided some strong pitching. Emma Mar- shell also had two hits and pitched admirably. Mark Morrison and Krystal Bartley led the Swain's team with some fine pitching. Offen- sively Aaron Warren had the big hit with a double. Senior Campbell's-16 oo Hawkeyes-14 Campbell's kept their record perfect with another - victory 'Homers by Chad Hobbs and tw. by Deryk Campbell plus some outstanding catching by Came- ron Vernest helped Campbell's to the victory. Leading the way for the ~ Hawkeyes was Jeff Danilko who scored three runs and Michelle Asselstine had a RBI single. Marlin Travel - 14 Don ¥rewandSon-10 The winners were led by Ja. mie Budge's home run and triple to even their record at 2-2. Carpet Warehouse- 18 owmanville-9 Trailingearly proved no detri- ment as the Peewee team bat- tled back for a convincing win. David Bauer led the offense with a triple while Matt Rolfe and Justen Gerrow provided some excellent pitching. Overidge Fireplace Bantam Team update: To date the four games played have provided much excite- ment. Even though they have only one win the team continues to improve game by game and are definitely not over matched as the rookie team in a new league. Offensive efforts were made by Brit- tany Goode, Rebecca Revrekas and Oliver Malinow- ski. Hank's wound up their bats with Raymond Petch hitting a home run, bringing in Chris Gilson, Adam DeJong and Curtis Pehleman. The bottom of the first saw the Meteors displaying good hits by Nathan Bowles and J.J. Jensen. Ray Petch showed defensive talent in the field for Hank's. Katie Hvidsten played clean up, bringing in Jamie Hvidsten, Meredith Gray and J.J. Jensen A fine effort was put forth for the Meteors by Kenny Smith and Josh Kingston. With Hank's up again in the second inning, Ray Petch hit another blast into the outfield. Brad Cole, Brittany Goode and Oliver Malinowski hit well and more great defense was exhibited by the Meteors by Josh Kingston and Justin Young. The game concluded with the Meteors having last bat. This was a fill in game from a rain- out earlier in the month and was thus the third game of the week, and the second victory, for the Moore Mosquitos. The home team started strong in the field with a one, two, three, first in- ning. Pitcher Scott Evans allowed only five runs spread over seven innings on the mound. There were some fine fielding plays to time and again turn the visitors away. Great glove work wa contributed by Jason Behling and Ryan May. he Moore team man- aged to score 10 runs with good hitting supplied by Stuart Cochrane aM Kane Van Asten among others. This week the team will be on the road with games in Havelock Friday and Oshawa on Sunday. Let's hope the hot streak can continue.
