Administrator/Clerk Township of Scugog, Box 780 Port Perry, Ontario LOL 1A7 (905) 985-7346 From Page 1 No time frame has been set for how long the com- mittee will work together. "We see it as an exciting time for North Durham and the two hospitals," Mr. Milnes said. The JSPC provides a chance to look at all broad base medical services and the gaps in service. He said the hospitals want to make sure all are- as have the same access to services. The hospitals will have a chance to iden- tify a need and try to meet that need. The JSPC is trying to form an agenda to set priorities. Some initial changes won't be noticeable, he predicted. One plan could see cer- tain services being based in one hospital. Both hos- pitals could be entry points, but the majority of work would take place at one hospital, he said. "IT think that's what we have to look at," Mr. 'Milnes said. This doesn't mean a re- duction in service, he add- ed. "We see doing more, not NOTICE COUNTY OF VICTORIA SANITARY LANDFILL SITES CANADA DAY HOLIDAY HOURS SATURDAY, JULY 1, 1995 Landfill Mariposa North Mariposa South Hours 8 am to 5 pm closed Any questions regarding garbage collection should be directed to your local municipal office. Any savings from shared arrangements would go into new pro- grams, he said. While both hospitals are similar in size (42 beds for Port Perry, and 45 beds for Uxbridge) and budget, each institution has its own unique advantages, and the committee wants to capitalize on those are- as of strength, Mr. Milnes said. The JSPC is composed of three board members from each hospital, two medical staff from each, the two chief executive of- ficers and the two senior nursing officials. Mrs. Farndale said the public will be hearing more about the commit- tee. She said the Friday press conference was held because the hospital boards didn't want people to feel they would have to read between the lines.
