Once again this August, Mr. Wasson of the Burnt River Band and his wife Charlene are set to host their annual corn roast and country music fundrais- er in benefit of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. And they've switched from the Saturday afternoon and evening format they've followed for the last seven years, moving the event to Sunday, Aug. 13 from 2 to 8 p.m, to allow even more people to attend. The event, which began as a few musical friends gathering to play and raise money in memory of musician Larry Dee, has become something of an institution at Mr. Wasson's McKee Rd. farm, attracting large crowds and raising thousands of dollar for Heart and Stroke. Mr. Dee died of heart dis- ease. This year's edition of the popular corn roast is becoming a family affair, with games, face painting, horse shoe tournaments and, of course, lots of great music.
