Frank was a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers' Union Local 353. Retired from the Toronto Board of Education, coached for 8 years in the Scarborough Village Baseball Associa- tion, coached the Sea- grave Turkeys Ladies Team, for 5 years coached in the Squawg Hollow Hockey Associa- tion and was a volunteer worker for the Scarbor- ough and Unionville Fig- ure Skating Clubs. Frank was a founder of the Bird- seye Centre Carving Club. He was a World Champi- on bird and decoy carver; having won several awards at the Ward Foun- dation World Champi- onships held in Ocean City, Maryland, U.S.A. Frank was the pit crew chief for son Jim and sponsor of the F.B.J. rac- ing team. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Isabelle (nee Demp- ster); his much loved son Jim and his wife Gail; cherished daughter Cathy and her husband Roy Fin- layson. Loved by his grandchildren Michelle, Jennifer and Brock Hedges and Robert Fin- layson. Frank will be moumed by his brothers Harry and Bill Hedges and by his sister Annette Stra- chan.
