They are Allie Willis on the 22nd and Becky Gray on the 26th. Happy birthday to both of you from your friends at the nursing home. The month of August has been set aside to cele- brate Australia. To start off the celebrations an out- back party was held out on the back lawn and in the evening residents gath- ered to discuss facts about Australia. There will be an Aussie summertime mu- sic festival throughout the month. A barbecue lunch was held on the third and in the evening the ever popular Jack Markell re- turned to entertain with his songs. On Saturday, Aug. 5, COMING 6OON The Studio of Dance & Derforming Arts Brand New Location! Community Centre - Regional Road No. 8, Port Perry (905) 666-1528 At The New (beside 8cugog Arena) Grace Hadden played the piano in the dining room to the delight of the other residents. On the eleventh resi- dents were kept extremely busy with preparations for the upcoming family pic- nic as well as going on a guided tour of the North- wood Exotic Animal Farm. The outback family pic- nic was a huge success. One could not ask for a better day weatherside. Residents, families and friends enjoyed the ani- mals from Sundance Meadows Farm, music by ~ the Washington Square Band and great food. On the 14th another musical event was held with everyone enjoying the music of Mr. and Mrs. Hunter singing and play- ing the piano. A special thank you to Bernice Davidge for invit- ing everyone to her home for a luncheon in her gar- denon the 15th. Following the luncheon Jim Martin paid a visit and enter- tained with his songs and hymns. Thank you Jim. As you know the residents are always happy to see you. On the 16th residents from the Uxbridge Nurs- ing Home joined the Port Perry CNH for a trip to Pe- terborough for the Festi- val of Lights. After a picnic supper they were escorted to a special spot in the park to watch the spectac- ular event. Though it was almost midnight before they returned everyone agreed it was a most enjoy- able day. Upcoming events for the month are a movie on Aus- tralia, the Fiddlers, a Koa- la Bear P.J. Party, a picnic at the Aldreds, Shrimp on the Barbi Supper Club, Hymn Sing, and to end the month the Pineridge Club will host the popular corn roast.
