McCready, born in the city of New York on February 8, 1915 and a resident of south Greenbank for the last 20 years, died suddenly July 23, 1995 at the Communi- ty Memorial Hospital in Port Perry. He was in his 81st year. He dedicated time to teaching, and writ- ing articles and books on things Spanish becoming well known as an interna- tional scholar of renown. A professor emeritus of the University of Toronto, he 18 listed in Who's Who. His hobbies included a special interest in cryptog- raphy and painting.
