"A Family Tradition for 128 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, September 12, 1995 - 23 SPORTS Port Perry Angels finish season, plan to host softball clinic Oct. 1 The Port Perry Angels Midget and Senior Girls Fastball season has come to an end. Port Perry Senior's cap- tured the Dutham Ladies League and Playoff Cham- pionships. Port's Midgets finished third in league playoffs. The Midgets had their first winning record in all the tournaments that they participated in and are hoping to challenge at the Ontario Championships next year. The team was rebuilt this year and with some new talent for next year the coaches are look- ing for better things. This was the first year for Port Perry to have a women's senior team and the team suprised many people with their out- standing play. The team added some new young players and are ready to challenge next year hop- ing for a berth at the Sen- ior Nationals in Saska- toon. Finalist at the Kitchener Tournament to Detroit and a fourth place finish at Provincials really gave the team confidence that they were for real. The Senior Angels and the Midget Angels would like to thank the town of Port Perry and all the as- sociations in Port Perry's Softball for their support and hope next year they will give the town some- thing to be very proud of. The Clippers shut-out the Hawks and blasted in four goals. The first was scored by Edward Olsen, assisted by Derek Fitzgerald.
