Old Port Marketing Ltd., owned and operated by Tom and Daphne Mitchell, acquired the worldwide distribution * rights to the product. Old Port Marketing has taken the candles to number one in Canada in 10 years of exclusive national distri- bution. According to the Mitch- ell's Yankee Candles's ob- jective is to position its product as the world's leading brand of gift wor- thy scented candles. Dis- tribution channels have already been set up in Ger- many, Benolux, France and Britain. The Mitchells, along with architect Denny Bryan, appeared briefly Style Sale before the township's planning committee on Monday and received wholehearted approval. Construction on the building, to be located in Success Industrial Park, also owned by the Mitch- ells, is expected to get un- derway October 6. If all goes according to plan the company should be up and running by the end of Feb- ruary next year at the lat- est.
