The game was a one-way scorer for the Hawks which started from Tim Ashbridge's goal and as- sisted by John Mackey. The next goal was placed in by Bob Collins, and assisted by Dennis Lycett and Brian Norton. Bob Collins also scored the next goal and was again assisted by Brian Norton with Steve Groves. Kei- jo Kinnunen scored the next Hawk's goal with John Mackey and Tim Ashbridges' assistance to bring the score up to 4-0 for the Hawks. Then Ron Zapara- nuik was assisted by Larry Pil- key and Robert VanCamp to open the scoreboards for the Wolves. Larry Jackson scored the next goal with Darcy Milli- gan's and Todd Wilbur's assis- tance. Then Ron Zaparanuik was assisted by Robert Van- Camp and Darcy Milligan to score the final goal for the wolves and bring the score up to 4-3, the hawks still leading with a minute to go. Finally with six seconds left on the board the hawks added the final insult to injury as Steve Groves, unas- sisted, finished the game with a goal for the Hawks, ending the game at 5-3 for the J & D Hawks. Game two hosted the Mon- sma Chargers and Fitzgerald Clippers in a close game. Doug Suppelsa was assisted by Rick Campbell and Carl Fitzgerald to start the Clippers going. Next the Charger's Brian Pomeroy scored the first for this team with the assistance of Steve Fox and John Robertson. Steve Churchill slipped in a second goal for the Chargers, putting them ahead in the game 2-1. Rick Campbell had the assis- tance of Carl Fitzgerald to tie the game, then Derek Fitzge- rald scored the last goal of the game with Carl Fitzgerald's and Doug Suppelsa's assis- tance. Clippers three, Chargers two. Game three was played by the Pizza Delight Roosters and Compton Comets. John Har- man was assisted by Carl Dur- ham and Brad Hurst to score the opening goal, placing the Roosters in a quick lead. Carl Durham scored the next goal with the assistance of Mark Pehlemann and John Harman, giving the Roosters a reason to be cocky. Then the Comet's Ja- son Warner received the puck from Bill Foote and launched it in to bring the team into the game. Brian Stevenson re- ceived the puck from Jeff John- stone and passed to Tony Oxley to end the game at 3-1 for the Roosters. Game four was hosted by the Ball-Callery Senators and Tay- lor Aces in the strongest duel to- day. Ken Little started the scor- ing for the Aces with an unassisted goal, then Richie Le- fort was assisted by Steve Dunn, and Bob McEachern for another goal for the Aces. Fred Moffatt, assisted by Brian Sa- mis scored a goal for the Sena- tors followed by Dale Bronson, also of the Senators, who, with the assistance of Brian Samis and Ivan Geer, scored the final goal of the game and left it tied at2-2. Game five was also a good duel, but unlike game four there had to be a winner. The Harrison Flames took on Van and Truck World Sharks in the last game of the day. Duane Bronson was assisted by Bill Bridge and Jim Beatty to start the Flames burning. Bart Wag- ner with Phil Cochrane and Carl Durward scored a goal for the Sharks to keep their heads above the water. Mike Adam was assisted by Phil Cochrane and Bart Wagner to bring the Sharks ahead. Then Duane Bronson scored another with Bob Beveridge and Bill Bridge in the last seconds of the second period, again tying the game. Jamie Taylor, also of the Flames, was assisted by Bill Bridge, followed by Dave Dick- son of the Sharks with Dave Brownson and Carl Durward, trying to keep the score up. Then Duane Bronson scored one last goal which was assisted by Bill Bridge and John Yaz to end the game at 4-3 for the Flames. Good game guys. The league is going to be see- ing a new player soon. Brett Laycoe will be taking Fred Ran- dall's place on the Senator's team. I'red has just accepted a position in Hong Kong, so he won't even be watching. It's a shame to see him leave, but he leaves all the players with his best wishes. So if you see Fred around, say "Bye" and if you see Brett, give him a warm wel- come. Goodbye Fred, we'll miss you.
