Council eyes new policy on filming in downtown Port By Kelly Lown Port Perry Star As Scugog Township contin- ues to draw movie and televi- sion crews, town council and the BIA are focusing on coming up with some rules for them to fol- low. The producers of "Father Goose", the Bill Lishman story, barely had time to fly out of town before the crew of Sullivan Entertainment moved in for a day of filminglast week. The township has been trying to come up with a list of criteria for producers to follow when filming in town, but is having a difficult time finding any pre- cendent. Mayor Howard Hall said' council has been trying to put a bylaw of sorts into effect for the past year, but they are having a hard time finding another mun- cipality that has such abylaw. "Even Toronto does not have rules for this," he said. While the township agreed to allow both the producers of the movie and television series into the downtown core, the Mayor charged both companies $1,000 for the use of the street. The money will be putinto the Parks and Recreation Department funds. The producers of ' 'The Wind At My Back", a new Canadian television show, which filmed in town last Thursday, made a do- nation to the BIA and also some of the merchants.
