From hot to wet and cold and windy! Let's see what this week brings. As the Chairperson for Block Parents for this district I would like to take a small part of this column to request a "Block Par- ent" representative for the vil- lage of Seagrave and for Sun Valley. Block Parents is a great organization which was formed to give our children a "Safe" house to go to if they are in trou- ble. At this time we do not have a representative, we cannot call the area a safe, "Block Parent" community. The commitment as a community representative probably involves 2-3 hours per month maximum. If you would be interested to know more about how much time is in- volved, or what the commit- ment is, or about the program, please call me, Ann Sandiford 985-9440. I would really appre- ciate hearing from you soon. Happy birthday this week to Logan Brazeau, Gwen Luke and Judy Carr. We have a new teenage in Ro- binglade as of Sunday, Oct. 22...Robert Privett turns 13. Congratulations Robert, have a great birthday!! That must be a good day to be born as it is also my husband Bill's birthday on October 22...gee Bill don't you wish you were 13 again!!, or 23...or 33...whoops, I better stop there! Tickets for the Secret Sister dinner on October 21 are still available from Delores Currie at 985-9835. The tickets are $5. The dinner this year is at Grey- stone and you pay for your own meal. Look forward to seeing everyone for a great evening. Robinglade Ladies Group meets this week at Tracey Evans home at 8 p.m. Thurs- day, Oct. 19. Please bring your usual items. The Seagrave Men's Group had a good turnout at the monthly meeting this past Sat- urday morning at the Seagrave Church. After breakfast the top- ic of conversation was "gadgets" ... the most helpful and the most useless. Needless to say, every- one enjoyed a good laugh and good fellowship. The next meet- ingis Saturday, Nov. 11 and the topic of the day will be "Armis- tice". Several people from Seagrave enjoyed the Sunday evening musical at the Scugog Shores Museum Church. Among the other entertainers, we all en- joyed hearing Jay King from Ro- binglade sing his solo, Wow, what a great voice Jay has! Seagrave Church News Many from here attended the Pinedale Church anniversary on Sunday morning to hear Fa- ther Brad Massman preach a very interesting sermon, "Too Many Catholics? Too Many Protestants? Not Enough Chris- tians". Father Massman is from the Church of St. Gregory the Greatin Oshawa. He also serves on many committees in the Oshawa and Toronto area. Next Sunday Seagrave Church service will be at 10 a.m. and there will be abaptism. A reminder of the Turkey Supper November 1. Get your tickets in advance. That's it for this week.
