Je Dlr ct ENG oA a Re RB ey wr "A Family Tradition for 128 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, October 17, 1995 - 31 SrorTs Plenty of a.m. This week in hockey the Ball-Callery Senators took on the Harrison Flames in an action packed game at 7 a.m. Bill Bridge of the Flames managed to slip in the first goal in the first period with the assistance of Bruce Smith. Then for a whole period the action was unrewarding but then Rob Evans of the Senators fired the puck into the net in a goal assisted by Doug Seeley. The game was tied but in the last two minutes Jamie Taylor scored with assists to Bill Bridge and Bob Beveridge to end the game at 2-1 for the Harrison Flames. Game two held a lot of action as well, but the turnout was a lot less close. The J & D Carpentry Hawks and the Van and Truck World Sharks went head to head, but the Hawks held their sticks up high in the end. The first goal for the Hawks went to John Mackey who was assisted by Joe Curran and Alan Sibbald. Then John scored again in the middle of the second period and was assisted by Alan Sibbald again and Tim Ashbridge. Dave Dickson was the first scorer for the Sharks, assisted by Bart Wagar and Carl Durward then Carl Durward went in unassisted for a goal of his own. Alan Sibbald of the Hawks scored their next goal unassisted, followed closely by Steve Groves, also of the Hawks, who, with the assistance of David Jackson and Keijo Kinnunen, managed to score. Finally at the end of the third period Tim Ashbridge scored with the assist of Bob Collins, finishing the game at 5-2 for the J & D Hawks. In game three Fitzgerald's Clippers and the Monsma Chargers fought, but of course someone had to lose. Steve Fox of the Chargers charged down to the net and smashed in the puck with Steve Churchill's assistance. Then Jim Park, assisted by Rick Campbell and Doug Suppelsa scored the first for the Clippers. Minutes later Lee Wilbur caught the puck from Jody Peters and scored another for the Chargers. Dave Milton picked up the tying goal with an assist by Rick Campbell followed by Rick Campbell who took the lead for the Clippers with Doug Suppelsa's help. In the top of the third period Dave Milton was assisted by Jim Park and John Delorme to place in another. Steve Lee scored with Doug Suppelsa and Rick Campbell bringing the score even further out of the Charger's reach. Derek Fitzgerald scored the next, action in SHL assisted by Greg Fitzgerald and Dave Milton, then Doug Suppelsa was assisted by Rick Campbell and Joe Forder, scoring the last goal of the game, leaving it at 7-2. Next time you Chargers better get a little more charged up. In Game Four, the Taylor Aces beat the Compton Comets in another massacre. Ken Little was assisted by Richie Lefort to score the first Aces' goal. Then Jason Warner of the Comets, assisted by Mark Burger and Bill Foote, scored the first for the Comets. Sean Fewer scored another for the Aces, assisted by Steve Dunn and Ken Little. Seconds later Alan Bonner scored another for the Aces, with the assistance of Wayne Taylor and Henry. Forderer. Shortly after, George Gladish of the Aces was assisted by Richie Lefort in scoring their fourth goal. Bill Foote, assisted by Jason Warner and Ron Compton, scored a second for the Comets, followed by Bob Beacock, also of the Comets, who was assisted by Bill Foote and Ron Compton for the last Comet to enter the Aces' net. Richie Lefort with the assistance of George Gladish and Sean Fewer, scored another for the Aces. Then Sean Fewer, with Richie Lefort and Bill Owen scored yet another. Finally Bob McEachern was assisted by Alan Bonner and George Gladish to end the game 7-1 for the Aces. The last game of the day was played by the Pineridge Wolves and the Pizza Delight Rooster. The first goal went to Darcy Milligan of the Wolves, assisted by Todd Wilbur and Clarence Stephenson. Carl Durham then scored the first goal for the Roosters with the assistance of John Harman and Brad Hurst. Next the Wolves' Darcy Milligan scored another 'with the help of Ken Smart, Jr. Then Carl Durham scored another for the Roosters with an assist from Brian Stevenson. Ken Smart, Sr. scored the next goal with Ken Davison and Wayne Norton assisting. Then the last goal went to John Harman who was assisted by Dave Bourgeois and Brian Stevenson, ending the game in a tie at 3-3. Early morning hockey tilt's no sleeper You may have thought a 6 a.m. hockey game would be a sleeper. The first game of the day between Haugens and Re/Max was anything but. The kids were pumped, the adrena- line was flowing and so was the coffee. Mitch Sauder No. 17 of Haugens opened the scor- ing at 0:49 of the first peri- od on a strong shot from the slot to beat Re/Max's netminder Trevor Agar. Mitch Sauder scored his second goal of the game netting the only marker of the second period at 4:28 assisted by Haugen's No. 8 Chris Boomhour. No. 7 David Stewart scored his second of the game to tieit at 2-2, assist- ed by Re/Max's No. 4 James Hobbs. Haugen's "Refused to lose" and jumped ahead on two more goals by Hau- gen's Mitch Sauder No. 17 at 9:30 and 9:56 of the last minutes of the third peri- od assisted by Haugen's No. 4 Trevor Doe, No. 2 and No. 6 James Donald- son. Brett Foster made a couple of fine saves in the third to hold Re/Max at- tackers at bay. Haugen's No. 7 Corey Hellingman played a strong game on wing and on defence. Mi- cheal Jehu No. 10 of Hau- gens also came up big all game playing strongly along the blue line keep- ing the puck in Re/Max's end. The game ended at 4-2 in favor of Haugens but there was still time left so we played a fourth 10 min- ute period. No. 1 Norman Rooney of Re/Max opened the scor- ing in the fourth period at 0:26 assisted by Ceri Boomsma. Scott Martin topped off Haugens scor- ing at 1:29 of the fourth unassisted to bring the score to 5-3 in favor of Haugens. Scott Martins goal topped off a great game. Scott played agres- sively forechecking. No. 9 Kirk Stephens of Re/Max led their come- back at 7:11 of the fourth assisted by No. 1 Dawid Stewart and No. 10 Stew- art Medford to bring Re/ Max within one. Re/Max's No. 15 Brent Meeking scored the equa- lizer at 9:01 assisted by No. 1 Norman Rooney and No. 17 Haydon Iish to bring the final to five each. Great game kids. You all played very well!
