Sheina Smith's sermon was titled, "What are we celebrating?" A time of fel- lowship followed downstairs af- ter the service. Scrip- ture from James 5: 1-15 was read by Florence Ashton, fol- lowed with prayer. President, Aldine Wick's meditation was titled, "Prayer of Faith". "It is well with My Soul" was sung. We were pleased to have Neil Wick join us, as he shared with us about his trip to Seoul, Ko- rea, having attended the Inter- national Lions Club Conven- tion. His talk was most interesting and informative. Also, he brought some samples of Korean food along for us to nibble on, as well as several pic- tures. Sheila served us a tasty dessert, and we had a nice chat together over tea. Ten tables of euchre were Ashburn Florence Ashton ~laved at the euchre party on Thursday night. Also birthday greetings to John Dryden and Lorne Crawford on his 80th birthday. My brother Lorne Doble passed away on Oct. 6 at a nurs- ing home in Mississauga. The funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, Oct. 10. . Ron and Pat Ashton enjoyed a trip to Winnipeg and Regina and surrounding area recently, visiting with relatives. Glen and Joan Fleming re- turned home following an enjoy- able trip to Ireland. On Saturday evening, about a hundred friends gathered at the Community Centre to a sur- prise pot luck supper for Marion Slater who will be soon moving from Ashburn with her husband Dave to Northern Alberta.
