Nursing Home News Oct. activities kept us busy October activities have kept the resi- dents busy as usual. On the third a few of the residents went to join the Ladies For Reflections at the Pentecostal Church and in the afternoon students from the Port Perry High School spent some time inter- viewing residents to get their biographies. A sing-songin the dining room was also on, the agenda. Bible Care College was well attended on the fourth and later in the day potato pan- cakes and potato soup was made to start off the month long celebration of Germa- ny. Before retiring for the evening many gathered for a discussion on the history of Germany. A variety of games were enjoyed by many of the residents on the sixth fol- lowed by tea, coffee and cookies. On the October calendar residents were offered a surprise outing which turned out to be a trip to the theatre in Whitby to see the movie "Babe." The following day, the 12th, Alex In- grim and friends paid a visit much to the delight of everyone. The evening activity was a Lantana Fashion Show and Sale. Everyone had a lot of fun especially those who volunteered to model the clothes and to all we say thank you for your participa- tion. Happy birthday to all. Many thanks to the ladies of the legion for helping to make the day a special one. Supper Club was held in the evening with everyone enjoying a special German dinner. On the menu was German wine, German potato and sausage soup (home- made), German Jouvich, Oktoberfest sau- sage and sauerkraut, apple strudel and whipped cream. Everyone agreed this was a most enjoyable meal. On the 20th Wayne Luke paid the home a visit with his parrot Chicko. It was inter- esting to hear all about parrots and ask- ing Wayne questions.
