WHEREAS it Is deemed expedient to amend By-Law Number 32-88; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SCUGOG Enacts As Follows: 1. That By-Law Number 32-88 is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Clause (O) under Section 9, subsection 9.1, Parking Offences, which shall read as follows: "9.1 (O) between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from the 1st day of December to the 1st day of April, inclusive." 2. Caswell It was pleasing to see such a large group of sen- iors attending our month- ly pot luck dinner. The Bentleys were greeters for this meeting and the regis- tration was handled by the Redmans. Following the singing of our National Anthem and the Grace before meals ac- companied by Edna Beck- ett at the piano, a delicious dinner was served up by the volunteer kitchen staff. Thanks to the staff and the seniors who sup- plied the great variety of food. The executive reported on the items of business of interest to the member- ship. Jacklyn Kerr listed the trips available and noted that the Florida trip is nearing capacity 80 those wishing to go should make their reservations promptly by calling 985- 7696. The entertainment for this meeting was supplied by four ladies calling themselves the Music Box Co. These gals, namely, Sally Kane, Debra Kel- land, Christine Crush and Arlene Boothroyd are ac- tive members of the Sweet Adelines and harmonized with some songs that were enjoyed by all. There will be no meet- ings in December but we expect a large gathering for our Christmas dinner on Dec. 13. The Latcham Centre will be closed for maintenance work start- ing Dec. 4-6 so the seniors activities for that period has been cancelled. As al- ways, new members to the Seniors Club are always welcome. The best of the season to one and all. They will meet monthly on the last Thursday at the li- brary for .readings, workshops, guest speakers, but mainly for sharing of writ- ing experiences and creative motivation. The group will also provide volunteers to help with the (W) Rites of Spring, sponsored by The League Of Canadian Poets, to be held in Port Perry next May 5 at the Latcham Centre. Guests for this festival will be invited to make this a. two-day event, with Saturday to shop around town before attending the read- ings Sunday afternoon. The group has no official name yet, but enthusiasm is strong and other writers in the area are encouraged to join us in the new year. For information call 985- 4356.
