Councillor Doug Moffatt learned the residents of his ward are not satisfied with a number of township services, including the winter mainte- nance of roads in the hamlets of Epsom and Utica. Several at the meeting told Councillor Moffatt the side roads are often not being looked after to their satisfaction, leav- ing farm vehicles grounded at times and cutting off access for milk trucks trying! to reach their farms. Councillor Moffatt noted that the roads department is already over budget for the year and workers are trying their best to deal with all roads during ice and snow storms. He did say, however, itis a priority that the milk trucks get through and that he would see to it that any . routes not being looked after would be tended to. Residents also raised con- cerns over other township mat- ters, including the proposed Lishman facility, tax arrears, reserve spending, lagoon capac- ity, and Canterbury Common. They also launched an attack on school boards, with the majority calling for them to be abolished. Councillor Moffatt outlined the highlights of 1995 including the signing of an agreement be- tween the township and the Fair Board, the Canterbury Common development, the building of a self-sustaining community hall and council's keeping the budget at the same level as the year previous with no taxincreases.
