Claire Griffin of Ash- burn was named to the Ca- nadian Junior Lacrosse team. The Epsom¥ School soc- cer team won the Scugog School Soccer Tourna- ment. The Seagrave Raptors won the B final of the Sea- grave Parks Board Lob Ball tournament. Bill Hopkins of Port Perry recorded his fourth hole in one, this time at Summerlea Golf Course. Former Port Perry resi- dents Jim and Gerri De- Mille and friend Pat Mil- burn of Oshawa won the Gerrow Memorial Trophy at a local lawn bowling tournament. Lyndon Greene, a local car racer, began doing vol- unteer appearances at Muscular Dystrophy events. Lloyd and Marion Lee, sponsors of the Green- bank Gamblers, were hon- ored by the Greenbank Li- ons Club by having a volunteer award named after them. Vic Reid of Port Perry was the winner of the clos- est to the pin contest at Country Acres. Richie LeFort of Port Perry recorded a hole in one at Sunnybrae Golf Course. Karen Kett and Ed Maunder were chosen as the athletes of the year at Port Perry High School's annual Athletic Banquet. More than 60 teams took part in the annual Fields of Dreams slo pitch tournament in Scugog. Dean Van, Camp, a Grade 6 student at R. H. Cornish set an All Dur- ham record in the 200 me- tres. Ken Ljvingstone of Port Perry whs off to Nova Sco- tia to compete in the At- lantic Vintage TT Motor- cycle Race. Local anglers Hector Peach and Peter Davidson won $5,000 in the one day Tri Lakes Open tourna- ment. The lawn bowling team of Mike Sheridan, Joyce Storry and Cam Crawford were the one game high winners of the Investors Group lawn bowling tour- nament. International fastball at its best was in Port Perry as the New Zealand Nationals came to town for the annual Interna- tional Fastball Challenge. The Port Perry MoJacks announced they would be playing teams from the Eastern League for the first time when the new season begins. The club also introduced its new as- sistant manager Brett Puckrin, a former Mo- Jack. The Peewee ModJdacks won the first round of their OASA playoffs. The Legion Squirts de- feated King City to ad- vance to the second round of playoffs. Super Spud and Analda Garden Centre faced off in the final of the T-Ball divi- sion of Cartwright Minor Ball.
