The choir has about 24 members who meet once a week under the direction of Edna Beckett and pia- nist Carol Edgar. The choir has recently sung at a Church Anniversary, the Nursing Home and the Senior's Christmas Din- ner. The Exercise and Line Dancing groups meet on Mondays and Fridays. The illness of their in- structor, Antonelle Weis- bach, has made it neces- sary to adopt some temporary alternate ar- rangements. Myrtle Bent- ley arranges the organiza- tion of this group. The Shuffleboard players, under the direc- tion of Otto Bujtas, con- cluded a successful year and now are entering the winter schedule. The regular meeting for all members was held on Jan. 10 with Marion Lee and Grant Bright as greet- ers. Shuffleboard awards for the fall schedule were pre- sented by Otto Bujtas: First to Aileen Dawson, Second to Clara Warren and Third to Lloyd Wake- ford. Jacklyn Kerr, Tour Ad- visor, brought everyone up to date on the Seniors Travel Program. From February through April there are 12 day trips scheduled to cover a wide variety of interests. From January to December there are 11 escorted over- night tours being orga- nized. The first of these es- corted tours begins on Jan. 30 when a full bus de- parts for Florida for an 18 day period. For such tours cars may be parked at the Kerr yard where the vehi- cles will be monitored and prepared for the drive off when the passengers re- turn home. This regular meeting closed with a lunch period after which some mem- bers remained to play var- lous games. The club is operating the "55 Alive Mature Driv- er Refresher Program." These classes will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 9:30 a.m. at the Latcham Centre and continue at the same times for three suc- cessive weeks. This course is filled with the 30 partici- pants who have signed up. A second course may be of- fered in late March. Pickering man still missing, police say The Durham Regional Police are asking for the public's help in locating 38 year old Derrick Francis of Longbow Dr., Pickering. He was last seen by his wife when he left for work on Thursday morning, Dec. 28.
