"A Family Tradition for 128 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, January 30, 1996 - 21 Farm Show celebrates 10th year In celebration of the tenth annual Canadian International Farm Equipment Show, model farm equipment enthu- siasts attending the up- coming show in February will be able to purchase the 1996 limited edition model tractor - the Allis Chalmers D21 Series I1. "We believe that collec- tors of the show tractors will be delighted with this model and we are proud to continue this tradition," sald Lesley Nicholson, CIFES Show Manager. "This is an exceptional model tractor," she added. The Allis Chalmers D21 Series I and II were the first Allis Chalmers trac- tors to break the 100 horsepower mark. Pro- duced from 1963 to 1969, the D21 Series incorporat- ed a new design, and fea- tured new hydrostatic steering, a direct-injection Farm family program Transferring the family farm from one generation to the next is a major per- sonal and business transi- tion. New tools have been developed by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs to help families make the changeover smoother and less stressful. "Between Generations" is an in-depth resource kit and workshop series that gives farm families the in- formation needed to begin the transition process and make sound decisions. The video resource kit was developed because it underscores the emotional factors and business is- sues involved in the deci- sion to transfer the family farm from parents to a son or daughter. The kit can be used by farm family members who are unable to attend traditional work- shops. The detailed resource kit helps farm families work through their plans and understand the steps required for a successful transfer. The kit includes the two 30-minutes shows, a manual, and video inter- views with expert advisors including alawyer, and ac- countant, a banker and a financial planner. They discuss business and transfer wills, marriage contracts, tax planning, capital gains, retirement income and financing a transfer. In addition to the kit, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs offers a range of services to families through follow-up work- shops and one-on-one con- sultations with farm busi- ness advisory staff. A workshop is being held on Feb. 13 and 20, at the OMAFRA office in agreements, Port Perry. For further in- formation on the resource kit or the workshop con- tact the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Ru- ral Affairs, in Port Perry at 905-985-2003 or 1-800- 263-8023 or fax 905-985- 9599. \ Be A Sport!!!
