President Law- rence Van Camp wel- comed everyone after which Stuart Dorrell said Grace. The delicious pot luck dinner was enjoyed. Barbara Weise conduct- ed the election. She com- plimented Blackstock Ag- ricultural Society on its enthusiasm and the large annual meeting as is the norm for our board. Janice and Gary Beechey were appointed secretary-treasurer for the coming year. Linda and Lawrence McLaugh- lin were reappointed audi- tors. The convention was an- nounced for Feb. 20, 21 and 22 in Toronto. Any di- rector wishing to attend is asked to contact either Joyce or Janice as soon as possible so car pooling can be arranged several indi- cated their plans to at- tend. The meeting concluded with a showing of some slides taken by Joan Gra- ham and shown by mark Graham. The Blackstock Wom- en's Institute are still tak- ing names of people inter- ested in the music program either singing or instrumental. Jean and Merrill Van Camp visited Gilbert Ma- gill of Columbus who is home again after a lengthy stay in hospital in Toronto. His many friends in this area wish him con- tinued improvement in health. Darryl Goulding under- went surgery for appendi- citis last week and is home and on the go again. Take care Darryl for a little while. An open house in honor of Lynn McLaughlin and Jim McPhail will be held on Sunday, Feb. 18 from 2- 5 p.m. at St. John's Angli- can Parish Hall. In lieu of bridal shower gifts, mone- tary gifts may be made that day. Lynn and Jim plan to be married early in March. A bridal shower is planned for Margot McGregor, bride-to-be of Craig Larmer for Friday evening, Feb. 23 to be held in the United Church C.E. Room. Margot's mother who lives near Petrolia in South Western Ontario spent the weekend in the area visiting at the home of Glenn, Marion and Craig Larmer. Howard and Julie Bai- ley of London spent the weekend in the area curl- ing with Roy and Cathe- rine Corden at a bonspiel in Port Perry and visiting with his parents Neil and -- Blackstock Elaine Bailey as well as Terry and Tara Taylor and Bailey. 4-H registration night will be Thursday, Feb. 15 for the following projects: The Great Chicken and Egg Project and quilting for the senior group in Blackstock and quilting in Nestleton. Registration will be held at the Black- stock United Church from 7-8:30 p.m. - $10 fee to go to the 4-H Council. For further information call Sheila Shortridge. The annual Robert Fletcher Memorial Bon- spiel held on Saturday at the local arena was a great success with great curling and much fellowship on a very cold day. Only until the last shot was thrown was the winner decided as the rink of Mark Graham, Elizabeth and Peter Peet- ers and Merlin Suggitt. The day concluded with a Greek style banquet pre- pared and served by Mona Paroussis and her helpers. Carol Gray, President wel- comed everyone after which David Shearman said Grace. Scott Fletcher on behalf of his mom Pat and sister Diana presented the tro- phy to Mark and his team.
