The annual reports are avail- able and were handed out fol- lowing the service. They will be available next Sunday as well in time for our annual meeting on Monday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at S.I.U.C. and the official board meeting on Monday, Feb. 26 at8p.m. at S.I1.U.C. The Lectionary Bible Study Group will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 1:30 p.m. The High School Supper Club will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. Choir practice will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. The Youth Group will meet on Friday, Feb. 16 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The Sunday School will be sponsoring a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on Tuesday, Feb. 20 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at which time a short Ash Wednes- day Service will take place. This Christian Education event will be held at Scugog Island United Church. The Grade 5 and 6 Sun- day School Class will be invit- ing you to sign up for this event. A Thinking Day Service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 9:45 a.m. at Scugog Island Unit- ed Church. The Stewards will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. Please mark your calen- dars. The Grace U.C.W. is plan- ning a St. Patrick's Day Ham and Scalloped Potato Supper and Talent Auction on Satur- day, March 16 at Scugog Island Hall with proceeds going to Scu- gog Island United Church. We are back to the deep freeze after a rainy, snowy icy week. event. -------- The Li Club 1 Greenbank News always looking for helpers Wouldn't it be nice to see some buds poking their heads out of the ground, but I'm sure the students at Greenbank School, who as a group enjoy skiing the Lakeridge Hills on Friday afternoon. Hope that spring isn't here for a few more weeks. The Evening Unit U.C.W. are asking that any Greenbank Church members who have recipes (maybe three or four) for the Centennial Cookbook please have them in by next Sunday Feb. 18. The Greenbank Church Youth Group are holding their annual Spaghetti Supper on the evening of Feb. 25 5 - 7 p.m. All are welcome and for tickets please contact 985-2006 or any of the youth group. There will be a Youth Group meeting next Sunday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in the church basement. The black Sanyo bag that was found in the Church Yard has still been unclaimed, if it is yours please call 985-7456 and identify the contents. The Pub night on Feb. 9 was a great success and a donation of $600. will be made by the Greenbank Lions Club to help Sarah Chapman represent Canada at the skating tournament in Italy. Many thanks to all those who came out to support this event. The winner of the euchre tournament was the team of Brian Norrish and Carol Smith. Marie Cookman won the door prize and Nancy McGhee won the 50/50 draw. Special thanks to Lion Larry Fairman who donated his services as the Disc Jockey. Mayor Howard Hall also ajtended to help support the to support their various events. The Lion's Club is setting up a meet- ing for Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 6 to 7 p.m. to look at the possibility of starting a Youth Activity Night for ages 11 to 16 on Friday nights at the Greenbank Hall. Wedding bells ringing Euchre Feb. 14 at Utica Hall Many of our local farm- ers joined the throngs who attended the annual Farm Machinery Show in Toronto last week where they enjoyed learning about all the new as well as the tried and true equipment of their '| vocation. Better health is wished for both Margaret VanCamp and Jean Trewin who continue their stay in Port Perry Hospital. As speedy a recovery as possible is wished for Jack Green who had the misfortune to slip on the ice and break his leg. I am sure Jack will appreciate visi- tors while he is confined to the house. Two brides-to-be will be honored within the next short while. Next Sunday afternoon, Feb. 18 from 2- 5 p.m. Lynn McLaughlin along with her groom-to- be Jim McPhail will be honored with an Open House at the Parish Hall at the St. John's Anglican Church. Lynn and Jim's wedding is planned for March 3. Blackstock by On Friday evening, Feb. 23 Margot McGregor, bride-to-be of Craig Larmer will be guest of honor at a bridal shower to be held at the United Church C.E. Room. Craig and Margot"s wedding date is also in March. Best wishes to both of these couples. Several relatives and friends from here attend- ed the 90th birthday par- ty in honor of Susan (Hy- land) Spencer held in Oshawa on Sunday after- noon. Susie grew up where Grant and Heather McLaughlin now live. 4-H Registration for the next two projects - Quilting and the Great Chicken and Egg Project for the clubs of both Nestleton and Blackstock will be held at the C. E. Room of the Blackstock United Church on Thursday, Feb. 15 from 7- 8 p.m. New this time is a $10 registration fee. Members of the Blackstock Agricultural Society who wish to attend the annual conven- tion of the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies must let either Janice Beechey or Joyce Kelly know within this week for registration. Dates of the convention are Feb. 20, 21, and 22. Please make your plans soon. Lucas Warner has been celebrating his second birthday in a really big way. On Sunday there was a swimming party at a Markham pool with his Aunt Fran and Dan Groulx and children of Dunnsville, Marlene Trewin and son School will host a social time following the service and everyone will be invit- ed to enjoy coffee and muffins. Enjoying birthday cake and a party on Monday were his sisters Lynne and husband Rob McFaul of Pickering and Tracy and husband Paul Schmidt of Blackstock and friends Dane and Emma Syvret. Jenny and Archie Watson have arrived home from their bus trip to Panama City Beach in Florida where they spent the past month away from our wintry weather. Although the nights were quite cool, they enjoyed the nice, sunny days. Sunday guests with Don and Stella Asling were Jerry and Joan Asling of Hanover, Jill and Danny Monk and baby Janell of Lethbridge, Alberta and Hazel ly in the passing of her uncle Lionel Lefebvre of Cornwall. Suzanne and Lucas travelled by train (Lucas' very first train ride) to attend the funeral. Some of us old timers remember when the Walkers lived on the fourth Line. We "were saddened to hear of the passing of Bob Walker a week ago and send our sympathies to wife Kay and family. It was also with sadness that I report the passing of Gordon Beare of Uxbridge. Gordon and his wife Doreen were our faithful mail delivery people for many years on the Uxbridge R. R. 4, until illness took over and they were forced to give it up.
